McWane’s Got Talent
September 30, 2015
McWane has so many talented team members in our environmental, health, safety and human resources departments, but did you know that some of them have hidden talents? At the recent EHS-HR meeting, we were entertained by some very talented team members in the McWane’s Got Talent contest. Who would have guessed that McWane Social Media Coordinator Ciara Dawson could perform to Tina Turner’s Proud Mary and look and dance just like Tina? Or that AB&I Safety Manager T.J. Pinkston could play the bagpipes and sing a Scottish ditty and Manchester Tank’s Ryan Pogotis, better known as Manual the Tank Man, could really dance!
Then of course there is Tyler Union (TU) Safety Manager Chriss Suddeth and TU Nurse Michael Kiser, better known as Jack & Elwood, the Blues Brothers! Then TU Environmental Manager Jerome McQueen was a last minute entry with a stand-up comedy routine. Last year’s first place winner Kent Brown was not able to attend again this year, but worked with MDU Environmental Dave Georgeson to come up with a very clever comedy routine that had everyone rolling in the aisles. Talented musician and Assistant Vice President of Safety Bryan Hoggan played the piano beautifully and performed a clever slap stick comedy routine.
But the team that emerged as the first place winner was the McWane Human Resources Group (Kevin McCarthy, Leslie Mawhorter, Wanda Hendrix, Karen Dorsett, Abreonia Webster, Betty Grogan, Joe Maziarz and Jessica Stones). They performed a dancing light show that had everyone on their feet. Ciara Dawson, aka Tina Turner won second prize and Jerome McQueen came in third.
