Pacific States Announces the Winners of the Holiday Health Challenge
January 13, 2014

We all tend to gain weight over the holidays and as we get older it gets more and more difficult to lose those extra pounds. This past holiday season, the Pacific States Wellness Committee came up with a “Holiday Health Challenge” to give team members an incentive to eat healthier during the holidays to maintain their weight or even lose a few pounds.
The initial weigh in was held the week before the challenge began on November 24. Team members that maintained their weight would earn a ticket and those that lost additional weight earned one ticket for each additional pound lost.
As an incentive, they held “5 A Day Challenges” which encouraged team members to eat five servings of fruits or vegetables per day. Team members scored a point for every serving of fruits of veggies they ate up to 5 points per day. If they earned 30 points in a week, they were rewarded with one ticket. The more tickets they earned the better chance they had of winning a prize in the raffle.
The challenge ended on January 4 and we are proud to announce that David Vazquez, Katy Lewis, Rosa Franklin, Scott Jarvis and James Walker were all raffle winners. Prizes included a Fitbit bracelet, a $50 Sports Authority Gift Certificate and a food dehydrator and crock pot.
