Amerex Corporation, a global leader in fire suppression technology, announced its vehicle fire suppression systems are now fully compliant with FM Approvals’ (FM) 5970 Standard— the industry’s latest and most rigorous benchmark for heavy-duty mobile equipment fire protection.
This certification confirms Amerex vehicle systems meet and exceed the new FM5970 requirements, which simulate the most extreme real-world conditions in industries such as mining, forestry, waste management and transit. Amerex testing included more than 200 rigorous fire flow and component level evaluations, ranging from intense heat and vibration to corrosion and chemical exposure, to verify Amerex vehicle systems continue to perform when it matters most.
“Meeting the FM 5970 standard reinforces Amerex’s reputation as a trusted leader in vehicle fire suppression,” said Amerex Product Development Engineer Chase Arrington. “The process challenged us to validate our systems under extreme conditions to ensure they perform with proven reliability in every environment.”
As part of the FM 5970 compliance process, Amerex enhanced its dry chemical systems, adding expanded nozzle options and network configuration that allow for tailored protection and greater flexibility across vehicle types and applications. These improvements translate directly into cost efficiency and more value from existing equipment, helping customers maximize performance while maintaining reliability and safety.
